The History Book

The creation of History undergraduates across the UK, The History Book is a multimedia platform that aims to make history more accessible and exciting outside of the education system.

Brought to you by amateur historians determined to bring the past into the 21st Century, The History Book brings together an encyclopedia of history in small, exciting snapshots.

About Us!

Both authors of the blog are current undergraduates with a simple desire: share their knowledge and love for history. That infinite collection of stories, memories and ideas, it truly is the sum of the human experience. Our interest’s our wide and encompass a variety of themes, places and times. Allow us to introduce ourselves and we hope you enjoy reading what we publish!

Cnut

I am Cnut, a Cambridge undergraduate with a devout interest in the long and forgotten characters in ancient and medieval history.

My special interests are those in the distant past – especially 11th Century England, and the Late Roman Republic, however in general, my interests lie in any aspects of pre-modern history.

Han

I’m Han – short for Hannibal. Named for the famous Carthaginian General who crossed the Alps with 36 elephants in the Second Punic War. I am currently reading history at the University of York.

I am especially interested in The Late Middle Ages, and the Early Modern Era; particularly the development of political thought and governance. Though I have interests across the board; including Greece, Rome, Japan and military history
